Excuse me...
Do you have time to talk about our lord and savior Gracefeel? lol
Hey don't run from the lord lol
Don't run, Just Preach!! lol
That's what priests say to children running from them :)
And yet during Church, the parents or people with them, willingly send the kids to the Altar to be stared at by a priest for some sort of blessing? I don't know, I was never Catholic...
So, you believe, too?
Hi. I have this flamethrower here.. if it hurts you, you're fake :)
I'm more surprised they didn't show any reaction when he said i'm reïncarnated. Like this was his biggest secret but it passed so easily
I mean, it helps explain why he's a genius. He's got some experience with things in his previous life, and now he's got a bigger vision on the things in this world
Clearly I wasn't listening since I don't remember that...
Well, he wasn't a genius in his previous life, he's just had a previous life that he's experienced, something no normal person has. And because he has the memories of his previous life stuck inside his house, he wants to avoid living the same life, because he knows what it's like to be in that position, so he'll try his best not to get his life back to what it was in his previous life again
It's an everyday sight!
"Hmm, as expected, perfectly normal..."
well, they're undead, and they live in a world filled with many kinds of magic... if it's just reincarnated memory, there's nothing strange with that...
Well they're both revered as gods lol
I mean Gus defo showed surprise, he winked
Yep her voice range 😌👌
I like that your pfp is also a character voiced by her. ;)
Yeah, it also took me a bit to realize it was Aoi Yuuki, she doesn't get to use this voice often.
"To err is human."
To forgive eat bread is divine." :P
Bread is too OP
NGL, I have been waiting for her to show up in anime because I knew Yuki Aoi is voicing her and want to know how her acting will be.
Yo! same wth!?
Well, I can understand why he was being pessimistic and was shouldering everything by himself, like I was once like that(might still be, idk)
Run Forest, Run!
Mary slapped the sht out of Will...
Welp that's one way to stop self deprecation lol
He needed it, and at least it was Mary and not Blood, I don't think he would have been able to hold back lol.
will Will stop worrying though, I feel like Will will keep worrying going forward
She slapped with the spirit of a drill that pierce the heavens
that wouldnt have worked on me ngl.
I think it might have made it worse for a normal person, oh wait, normal people aren't like that
My therapist does the same thing
The author’s comments on this episode, from Twitter:
I'm Yanagino, the original author of #faraway_paladin. I hope you've already enjoyed the fourth episode. Let me explain a little about the details of today's story. It's a habit of novelists to want to explain details about their stories. 😉
First, Gus defeated the God's alter ego. That was really a defeat for Stagnate. So why did he appear again? As Stagnate himself explained, it was because he had split his body in two and hid one of them beforehand.
Stagnate is a cunning god who likes heroes. He understands that gods are overwhelmingly stronger than humans. But sometimes a hero overcomes that hopeless barrier. Knowing this, he was prepared for that case.
The same is true for Will. He is a god who likes heroes, so he really recruited Will. But at the same time, he thought of Will as a potential hero and prepared for him. The snake in the cup was in preparation for a surprise attack. Stagnate is a cunning god who likes heroes.
The venom of the snake biting Will's arm convinced Stagnate that he could have made Will undead. However, Will's arm was burned. A holy stigma burned by the fire of the god. And Will's body was made of the holy bread that Mary prayed for every day.
It completely defied Stagnate's expectations. In addition, he even got the blessing of a hostile god. There is a possibility that we will lose at this point. In this case, what would this god do? Would he just smile arrogantly and say, "I'm a god, I can't lose to a human"?
No way! 😣
Stagnate is a cunning god who likes heroes. If your opponent has awakened as a hero, it is dangerous to play with him. He immediately cut the play and shifted his target to his original goal, Mary and Blood.
I'll say it again and again. Stagnate is a cunning god who likes heroes. According to that principle, he acts consistently. This god does not reckon with heroes, ever. And please wait for episode 5 to see what the result will be.
could you explain again what type of god stagnate is and what he likes? i didn't quite get it XD
I REPEAT AGAIN " HE IS A GOD WHO LIKES HEROS" THE NEXT TIME YOU ASK ME I SHALL RECRUIT YOU AS A GENERAL IN MY UNDEAD ARMY..
Probably an elf waifu is the result ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)
clapping them tight elf cheeks
Which cheeks?( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
all of them
Lets hope Mary, Blood and Gus come out of this alive. Or rather, undead...
Let us pray to Gracefeel 🙏 lol
You mean Stagnate? Since Gracefeel is the deity of death and reincarnation, or whatever it was. Not undead though, I know that much
Latom 🙏
Latom!!🙏
Well.. Latom
One thing I like about Faraway Paladin (besides all the other stuff I’ve said before) are the gods. To put it simply, they’re written differently than most isekai.
Think about most web novel series you’ve read, and how they treat their gods. Aqua? Useless goddess. Being X? Obsessed with people worshipping them, may not even be a god. D? Reincarnated the MC as a spider for shits and giggles. Goddess from Tsukimichi? Vain, shits on Makoto because they’re ugly. So you either get gods who are stupid or ignorant or evil or all of the above.
Faraway shows us that while there are certainly evil gods, there are also benevolent ones as well. As far as we see, the pantheon of gods here reward people who are faithful, and don’t shit on Will even though he was raised on three people who went back on their gods. In a genre which is steeped with “gods are nothing compared to this one high school boy with cheat skills”, it’s nice to see that there are some authority figures who actually deserve the authority they have.
I feel like the author read a lot of Greek/Roman mythology where the gods actually guide the hero through their journey. (Like the goddess of wisdom guiding Odysseus) and yes, that comes with the poor human getting dragged in god-feuds.
I do agree with you that Gracefeel is a nice change from the usually selfishly portrayed gods that only do as they please, disregarding the feelings of their hero's. It's nice to see gods getting a bit depth by their connection with their followers and not just shallow entertainment hunters.
Gods in Saihate no Paladin didn't show up that much either. they do assist, but they won't intervene. which is kinda nice since it won't make them using gods power and all everyday. not to mention I cannot even remember when the last time the manga shows Gracefeel after the first arc over lol.
I feel like Gracefeel will appear when Will really in critical condition again, or Will is fighting other gods.
If we take her guidance literally, she will only appear physically again when Will dies. But I think she would send like a light to guide him or share her power in some way. Or just like she did this ep with the make him turn around or something. I think that would keep her mysterious enough to adore her but not breaking the special rarity of the appearance of her character. It's a very thin line the writers have to balance on.
Run like the wind, Will!
Will seriously needed that slap from Mary to snap him out his negative mentality. I can understand his guilt and pessimism given his previous life, but parents don’t expect their kids to carry them or shoulder their own burdens, and he’s been doing his best to live a proper life since he reincarnated, so there really was no reason for him to be blaming himself to such an extent for something completely beyond his control.
p.s. it took me a while to realize that Gracefeel is voiced by Aoi Yuuki since she sounds so different than usual. It’s funny to think that Gracefeel and Kumoko share the same VA. :p
